Humane Society in NH gives 15 cats a 2nd chance at life after Hurricane Matthew

SWANZEY — The local Monadnock Humane Society agreed to transport 15 shelter cats displaced by Hurricane Matthew to its facility in Swanzey.

At the request of Jasper Animal Rescue Mission in Ridgeland, S.C., the cats were cared for and made available for adoption at the humane society.

Most of the 15 cats have already been adopted and are living in safe and loving homes, according to the news release.

“We are so thankful that the ASPCA reached out to us, and that our community gave so much support to this effort,” Kathy Collinsworth, the Monadnock Humane Society’s executive director told The Keene Sentinel. “We hope to have many more collaborations like this in the future.”
