Human remains found in NH's Pisgah State Park identified as man last seen in July 2014

CHESTERFIELD - Deer hunters walking in Pisgah State Park found the human remains of a man identified as a 61-year-old Chesterfield resident with dementia.

According to N.H. Fish and Game, Donald Cheever was last seen walking near his home on July 4, 2014.

State Police and Fish and Game Officials conducted an extensive search after Cheever's disappearance, including dogs and an air search.

On Dec. 3, two hunters found the remains and contacted the police. The Medical Examiner's Office positively identified the remains as Cheever Wednesday.

Cheever's remains were just over one mile from his home.
