Huge turnout for fundraiser benefiting family of fallen Hampton firefighter

DERRY — People lined now known as Kyle Jameson Way in Derry, to celebrate the life of a man taken too soon. Hampton Firefighter and Paramedic Kyle Jameson recently lost his battle with cancer.

Hundreds raised their glasses for their fallen brother Kyle, who leaves behind his wife and young son.

The event, put on by the Professional Firefighters of Derry, Nutfield Fire, The Halligan Tavern, and Parkland Medical Center was originally planned to help support the family during Kyle's treatment. Since he's passed away, all of the money raised will help his family.

The event was planned as a party that Kyle would enjoy - with drinking, dancing, and lots of laughter.

“Kyle was a character that always had you laughing, he’d just put a smile on your face,” said PFFD member Shawn Haggart.

There were bagpipes, Irish step dancers, and lots of raffle and silent auction prizes.

“The outpouring of support from the fellow brothers and sisters and the community and the residents and all of the businesses that's all represented today that's how this has happened today from the outpouring of everybody else,” Haggart said.

Kyle was most recently a Hampton Firefighter and Paramedic, but served on the department in Derry up until 2012.
