HUDSON - The Hudson Police Department is thanking its officers after raising over $9,500 for New Hampshire's Special Olympics Winter Games.

On Saturday officers participated in the 8th annual "Winni Dip" in Laconia, where they all jumped into a 36-degree Lake Winnipesaukee to raise money for the Winter Games.

This year's $9,500 contributed to the department's overall total of $20,000 raised for the games in just over a three-year period.

This year's games ran from Feb. 28 through March 1 in Waterville Valley and over 230 athletes participated.
