Hudson man riding dirt bike injured during jump in Litchfield

LITCHFIELD – An experienced dirt bike rider was flown to a Boston hospital Sunday after getting thrown from his bike while attempting a jump. Authorities say 23-year-old Nathan Davan of Hudson was riding with friends near the Litchfield Sand and Gravel, which is off Morgan Road, and not far from Route 3A. He was wearing a helmet and goggles while riding in the sand pit and when the accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. Sunday. Davan hit a jump and traveled about 75 feet in the air before losing control, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. The dirt bike traveled 148 feet before coming to rest. Davan’s injuries were serious enough to call in a medical helicopter that took him to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Massachusetts.
