Hudson man faces 15 charges after a two-day rampage

HUDSON - A Hudson man faces more than a dozen charges, including several felonies, after police say he assaulted his neighbor, smashed the windows of three cars, drove drunk and threatened potential witnesses over a two-day period this week.

According to the Telegraph of Nashua, Richard F. Linnell Jr., 46, of 11 Lowell Road was arrested Tuesday evening after police got a warrant for his arrest.

Police said they were first called to Linnell's home Monday night for a report of a fight between neighbors. The alleged victim told police Linnell had come at him with a metal pipe. Police say they saw numerous bruises and injuries to the man's head and face. He was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Witnesses said Linnell fled the scene but not before he cut power to the house and allegedly smashed the windows of three vehicles.

The next day police said they were again called to Linnell's address, this time for a report of a hit-and-run crash.

One of the officers spotted Linnell behind the wheel and pulled him over, saying he appeared intoxicated and told officers he had hit another vehicle.

Judge Gregory Michael set bail at $10,000 cash or surety pending a probable cause hearing on June 22 in the Nashua court.
