'Hot Spot' patrol nets heroin arrest in Manchester
MANCHESTER - City police arrested a woman early Thursday and charged her with possession of heroin.
Officer Eric Joyal was conducting a "Hot Spot" patrol in the area of Beech and Spruce streets about 2:40 a.m. when he noticed two pedestrians in the street. He said one of the two, Amber Carlow, 23, of Londonderry, was acting suspicious, making repeated attempts to reach into her pockets.
Joyal said he approached Carlow and asked her about her behavior. He said Carlow then told him she had a needle in her posession, which led to a search.
Police said they found 0.77 grams of heroin, a syringe and two burnt spoons on Carlow.
Carlow was then arrested and charged with posession of a controlled drug.
She was due in court later Thursday.
