Horseshoe Fish and Game hosts annual ice fishing derby


MERRIMACK - The Horseshoe Fish and Game Club is hosting its annual ice fishing derby at 44 Greens Pond Road in Merrimack on Saturday, Jan. 31.

The event is set to begin at 7 a.m. but the clubhouse doors will open at 6 a.m. Food will be provided both in the clubhouse and on the ice.

Tickets are $10.00 for an adult and $5.00 for kids ages 7 to 15. Children 6 and under get in free.

All proceeds will directly benefit its scholarship fund which provides a $1,000 scholarship to two high school seniors each year.

Holes will be pre-drilled on the ice and the event includes free shiners to use as bait.

In addition to the ice fishing, there will be a bonfire, raffles, and ice fishing instructions for beginners.
