Hooksett police say driver jumps curb and crashes, charge him with DWI

HOOKSETT- Police arrested a Hooksett man for driving while intoxicated after a witness watched the car he was driving hop over a curb Sunday night.
Police were sent to the scene of a crash about 11:30 Sunday night after someone reported seeing a car driven by John Chaisson, 26, of Hooksett collide with a curb while traveling at a high rate of speed. Police say Chaisson's car was driving fast on Hooksett Road before taking a left onto Whitehall Road and hit the curb, causing the car to go approximately 2 feet into the air before crashing.
Police say they noticed an odor of alcohol on Chaisson's breath at the scene and he admitted to drinking alcohol. Chaisson agreed to a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested.
Chaisson refused to take a breath test at the Hooksett Police Station. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail. Chaisson is scheduled to appear in the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett on May 5.
