Hooksett police: Man had foot on brake pedal while passed out behind wheel of running car

HOOKSETT — Police arrested a man who appeared to be asleep with his foot on the brake pedal while his car was running, and in drive on Sunday at 2:13 a.m.

An officer saw 20-year-old Brendan Wills of Concord parked behind a gas pump at Mr. Gas on West River Road. It reportedly took six minutes for the officer to wake Wills, then shift the car into park, and take the keys out of the ignition.

Police say Wills behaved as if he were driving away even though the vehicle was off, and the officer was speaking to him through the open door.

Wills was unable to stand upright for a sobriety test. He faces charges of aggravated drunk driving, and will appear in court on Sept. 13.
