Hooksett police disarm bottle bomb in residential mailbox

Hooksett police are urging town residents to keep a close eye on their mailboxes after a bottle bomb was exploded on Ridgeview Drive.

The state police bomb unit was called to a home in Hooksett on Tuesday to detonate what officials identified as an acid bomb or "soda bottle bomb," according to Hooksett police.

Police were called to 15 Ridgeview Drive for a report of a suspicious devise. The caller said he found what he believed was a plastic bottle type bomb in his mailbox.

Police were able to confirm the device as a possible explosive and closed down a portion of Ridgeview Drive to all traffic.

The bomb unit confirmed that the device was an acid bomb, and had it detonated.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Detective Brian Williams at 624-1560 Ext 318.
