Hooksett man arrested under suspicion of DWI


HOOKSETT - A local resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

On Saturday at about 9:48 p.m., Officer Byers from the Hooksett police department, responded to a minor accident.

William Dionne, 50 of Hooksett, did not stop and rear ended another vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light.

The accident took place on West River Rd. at Market Dr. and there were no injuries. The police said Byers smelled alcohol coming from Dionne when he spoke. The police also said Dionne agreed to field a sobriety test at the scene of the accident but failed.

Dionne was arrested for driving whil intoxicated and was transported to the Hooksett Police department.

At the police station, Dionne agreed to a breath test, and .15 alcohol was recorded on his breath.

He was set at $2,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the 6th Circuit Court in Hookett on March 9.
