Hooksett firefighters rescue 2 deer from ice

HOOKSETT - Town firefighters took to the ice to rescue two deer that fell through it.

The deer fell into Pinnacle Pond, and the firefighters used technical ice rescue and cold water equipment to perform both rescues.

N.H. Fish and Game was on site as both deer were removed from the ice, but officials say only one survived.

Officials said it was a good reminder to stay off all ice due to the warming temperatures.

Unsafe conditions should be expected on the ice across the state.
