Hooksett dispute between landlord, tenant involves dog
HOOKSETT - Landlords allegedly entered a tenant's home to steal a dog.
At about Saturday at 1:40 p.m., the police said they were called to an assault and possible attempt of theft of a motor vehicle but said when they arrived on scene found the owners in a dispute
Richard Bernier 68, and Keri McCallum,49, are the owners of 19 Vindale. Police said McCallum entered the tenants home and allegedly took the dog without consent.
Police said McCallum and Bernier returned again, entered the residence without consent from the tentants, but this time the tenants were home. Police said a fight broke out between landlords and the tenants over money owed to the landlords.
Officers said the tenants' car keys and house key were taken by McCallum, and the tenants tried to retrieve their property.
Officials said a struggle started in the doorway of the home and lead outside where one of the tenants was thrown to the ground. Police said the tenant who was thrown, hit his head off of the ground causeing a laceration. The police said the other tenant had minor bruising from the struggle.
