Hillsboro man dies in I-89 crash in Grantham

GRANTHAM - A 23 year-old Hillsboro man died early Tuesday morning in a crash involving a tractor trailer.

State police say they responded to a crash on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 42 in the town of Grantham around 4:20 a.m. Preliminary reports state the driver of a Subaru Forester, Maxwell Miller, lost control on icy roads and spun out hitting a guardrail and ended up in the passing lane when he was hit by a tractor trailer.

The tractor trailer driver was identified as 55 year-old Grant Hodgdon of Cornish. According to police, the tractor trailer belongs to United Postal Service.

Miller, the lone occupant of the Subaru, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the tractor trailer was not injured.
