Hiker rescued from Moose Mt. in NH after leg injury

HANOVER — A hiker was rescued on Moose Mountain after injuring his lower leg on Monday.

The hiker, 63-year-old Andrew Hyduke of P.A., had planned a nine day excursion along the Appalachian Trail.

Hyduke was located about 1.5 miles south of Goose Pond Road on the Appalachian Trail when he suffered a leg injury at about 9:45 a.m.

Paramedics were able to respond and stabilize the injury. They then carried him to an ambulance.

Hyduke was transported by Hanover Fire Department to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further evaluation of his injuries.
