Hike Safe Card purchases help NH search and rescue missions
CONCORD – NH Fish and Game is urging hikers, bikers and other outdoor adventurists to get their Hike Safe Card this summer.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, the voluntary card supports search and rescue efforts in the state.
“The Hike Safe Card is your backup plan for the great outdoors,” Fish and Game Director Glenn Normandeau said. “Buying a card is a great way to help support Fish and Game’s search and rescue activities.”
From 2011-2013, 180 search and rescue missions were conducted in the Granite State.
Hike Safe Cards are sold for $25 per individual or $35 for a family card. However, any person who already has a NH hunting or fishing license or registration for a snowmobile, boat or off-highway vehicle are exempt from repaying the rescue cost.
The cards can only be purchased online at here.
