Have you met the NH '#Presidentialselfiegirls?' 13 different 2016 candidates have (so far)

MERRIMACK - The art of the selfie.

Sisters Addison and Emerson Nozell of Merrimack have been perfecting their skills since they were small.

“When you have six kids, you don’t take them to Disney World," said Wendy Thomas, the girls' mom. "You take them to presidential events in New Hampshire because they are just as exciting.”

The teens unleashed their selfie campaign on the 2016 GOP candidates.

“We went to a Chris Christie event, and Emma wanted a selfie so she got in there,” Addison, 17, said.

The girls have a running list of selfies with the candidates, but what’s the point?

“I don’t ever want to hear my kids say, ‘I’m voting for that person because my parents want that person,'” Thomas said.

To some it may be just a picture, but even the candidates have been open with their opinions on selfies.

In an op-ed for the Washington Post Ben Carson has called selfies "obvious narcissism," telling voters to focus on their surroundings rather than themselves.

However, he obliged when Emma asked the neurosurgeon to pose.

Other candidates think selfies are a great icebreaker.

Lindsay Graham said it gives him a chance to chat with voters and said it supports the idea of American Democracy.

But for Addison and Emerson, it's really all about those few seconds to intimately chat with the candidates.

“A lot of people just judge on what they see," Addison said. "And it’s about having a selfie and knowing what they are going to talk about."

“We go to the event to hear what they have to say," Emerson said. "The picture is just extra."

The girls' Twitter page has more candidates and political commentators following them than you might think.

They’re said they're just hoping to educate folks a little about politics and get the message and the selfies out.

So how many selfies have they taken? 13.

The girls are still hoping for some one-on-one time and (short) photo-op with Donald Trump, Scott Walker and Hillary Clinton.
