CONCORD (AP) — Gov. Maggie Hassan is nominating State Sen. Gerald Little as commissioner of the New Hampshire Banking Department.
Little, a Republican from Weare, is in his first term in the Senate. He is vice chairman for the Senate finance and energy and natural resources committees. He spent two decades as president of the New Hampshire Bankers Association and executive director of the NHBA Insurance Trust.
Last year, Little worked with Live Free and Start, an initiative of the Governor's Office, the Department of Resources and Economic Development and the Business Finance Authority that brings together business leaders and entrepreneurs to make it easier for innovative businesses to start up and grow.
The nomination is subject to approval by Executive Council and will is being formally submitted by Hassan on Wednesday.
