CONCORD — Gov. Maggie Hassan is joining her counterparts from across the nation in West Virginia this weekend for a gathering of the National Governors Association.
Rising health care costs, the need to repair roads and bridges and efforts to combat global warming are just a few of the topics the governors are likely to discuss.
Hassan's schedule includes private meetings with U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez and Jerry Abramson, the White House director of intergovernmental affairs. Hassan's spokesman did not provide specifics about either meeting, only saying Hassan will be discussing how each office is working with the state.
Hassan also is scheduled to lead a meeting of the education and workforce committees on Saturday. She's also slated to attend sessions on economic development, public safety and other topics.
