Harvard professor Larry Lessig blames drop out of presidential race on televised debate rules

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard professor and government reform activist Larry Lessig announced he is dropping out of the presidential race.

Lessig blamed his departure on debate rules that did not allow him from getting onstage with other Democratic rivals.

“The party won’t let me be a candidate,” Lessig said in a video he posted announcing his departure.

Lessig began his campaign in early September after receiving a $1 million in donations from supporters.
