Hampton, NH, parents accused of shooting up heroin in vehicle while son sat in back seat


HAMPTON - Two parents are accused of using heroin in a car while their 6-year-old son sat in the backseat.

Elizabeth Green, 31, and Steven Quigley, 32, both of Hampton are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

On Thursday, police responded to a possible drug overdose in a parking lot on Ocean Boulevard.

Police found Green in her vehicle in a drowsy state after
an apparent overdose, police said.

Quigley said he and his 6-year-old son
found Green unconscious and not responsive for approximately eight minutes in the driver's
seat of her car, police said.

Green had injected heroin which led to her non responsiveness, police said.

Quigley was impaired from heroin use as well, police said.

An investigation into the incident revealed that both Green and Quigley were in the
parked car using heroin while their sat in the back seat, police said.

Green and Quigley were arrested at the scene and each charged with one class A
misdemeanor offense of endangering the welfare of a child.

Green was also charged
with possession of drug paraphernalia for possession of hypodermic needles.

Green and Quigley were held at the Rockingham County Jail on cash bail.

The child was taken into protective custody and later released to a family member.
