Hampton man nabbed twice for drunken driving in 10 hours

HAMPTON - Police arrested a local man twice in the same day on drunken driving charges.

Thomas Dwyer Jr., 54, of Hampton, was first arrested April 29 at 10:20 a.m. on Stowecroft Drive after he police pulled him over. His car was towed from the scene. Dwyer was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was released on personal recognizance and ordered to refrain from excessive use of alcohol.

At approximately 8:26 p.m., Dwyer was spotted driving his car in the area of Hampton Meadows. He was pulled over and placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and breaching the condition of his previous bail order.

Dwyer was held without bail over the weekend and released on $1,500 cash bail following his May 2 arraignment. He is scheduled to be back in court June 21.
