Hampton man faces a slew of charges related to domestic violence

HAMPTON — Several charges have been filed against a Hampton man related to an incident of domestic violence on June 16.

Police responded to Ashworth Avenue for the report. Officers made contact with both the victim, and Benjamin Hawthrone, 31, the victim's husband.

Hawthorne was arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife. He is being charged with two counts of second-degree assault, one count of false imprisonment, and three counts of alleging domestic assault and using force or threats to prevent injury or report crime.

He waived his probable cause hearing on Tuesday and is being held on $2,500 bail.
