Hampton Beach nominated for Best Boardwalk in US
HAMPTON — Hampton Beach is known for its boardwalk as Granite Staters, New Englanders and even Canadians flock to it every summer.
And now, it's been nominated for Best Boardwalk in U.S..
This contest is part of USA Today's 10 Best Reader's Choice travel awards giving readers the opportunity to vote until May 23 at 11:59 a.m. and the winners in all categories will be announced on May 27.
Hampton's competition includes boardwalks like Atlantic City and Coney Island.
Hampton Beach Village District's marketing director, John Kane, told Seacoast Online that Hampton Beach is "unique" and said, "there are a lot of beaches around that don't have the amenities that Hampton Beach does. That's what draws people here. They can park their car and walk anywhere."
