Hampstead Hospital employees testify about patient attacks in May

BRENTWOOD — Lorin James Horton attempted to strangle his girlfriend, Lindsay Catalino, last May in a mental health facility, and staff at the hospital are testifying, according to the Union Leader.

Hampstead Hospital nurse, Sarah Reynolds, testified that Horton, 25, of Antrim, was extremely agitated on May 17, with his release time from the facility approaching.

Catalino signed a check-in sheet and spoke with Horton. When she began walking away, Horton pinned her to the wall and had his hands around her neck.

Reynolds spoke of Horton attempting to strangle his girlfriend, and shouted that he would kill her.

“He said something along the lines of, ‘if the door was locked he would kick it down and he felt bad for anyone who might be in there,’” Reynolds testified, according to the Union Leader. “He didn’t use anyone’s name. He also said something along the lines of he wanted ‘her’ to feel as miserable as he felt.”

Jurors began hearing evidence in the case late Wednesday after visiting Hampstead Hospital.
