Gunshot leads to arrest in Danbury domestic disturbance

DANBURY- A gunshot outside of a Danbury home Friday night and subsequent 911 call brought a significant police response
Friday night to a home on Route 104.

The road was closed between Ragged Mountain Road and Daffodil Lane while police were on the scene.

Danbury police chief David Suckling said he negotiated with the man for two hours before he was able to successfully
get him to leave the home. He said five law enforcment agencies were involved in the incident and some nearby residents were
evacuated while police worked.

Chief Suckling said there was no physical altercation between people inside the home and the incident was
being called a domestic disturbance. The man was armed during the time of the domestic disturbance, Chief Suckling said, but not
when he was placed under arrest.

Police aren't releasing the name of the man taken into custody until Monday's arraignment.
