Gunman in 2015 fatal Manchester shooting pleads guilty, gets 25 years to life

MANCHESTER — The gunman who fatally shot another Manchester man in August 2015 pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Raymond Drake, 44 of Manchester, was fatally shot by Drew Morris, 32, on Aug. 18, 2015 at about 4 a.m. Morris shot Drake at least three times in the chest area, police said.

One witness recalled hearing shots fired before tackling the alleged gunman and then attempting to revive Drake, who was dead when police arrived on scene.

Morris was sentenced to prison for 25 years to life. Five of the years are deferred with conditions, but if the conditions are not met within 15 years, the five years will be imposed along with the 20 years.
