Gun safe stolen in Boscawen; police seek suspect vehicle

BOSCAWEN - A small gun safe containing a rifle and muzzle loader has been stolen from Chandler Street, one in a string of burglaries involving weapons thefts that police believe are related.

Police are now looking for a white 2010 Buick Lacrosse with a N.H. license plate number of 379-2051. The car has been through a couple fender benders, police noted. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call their local police or 911 but not to approach the car as the suspect is considered unpredictable and armed.

According to Boscawen police Lt. Jason Killary, they received a call about the latest burglary on Saturday night from the victim who came home to discover the gun safe missing - the fourth such theft in three days.

Concord police subsequently located the suspect vehicle in Concord, but the driver refused to stop, and officers lost the vehicle when it disappeared in the Commercial Street area.

Killary says police do a have a suspect and are seeking an arrest warrant.
