Group selling candy claims to be Boys and Girls Club

MANCHESTER - The Manchester Police Department is on alert after a group posing as the New Hampshire Boys and Girls Club is going around claiming they are selling candy for a fundraiser.

According to police the Boys and Girls Club contacted the department claiming that a group of youth are selling the candy bars at different stores under false pretenses.

Officials point out that all vendors need a hawkers or a peddlers permit if they are selling anything within the city. More importantly, the Boys and Girls Club is not currently conducting any sort of fundraiser that has to do with selling candy bars.

Police are asking anyone who has any knowledge of this scam to alert others that the fundraiser is a fake and not a part of the New Hampshire Boys and Girls Club.
