Granite Staters respond to Trump with hashtag showcasing photos of 'drug-infested den'

NH1.com

After a leaked phone conversation between President Trump and Mexico's President Enrique Peña Nieto revealed that the president said he "won New Hampshire because New Hampshire is a drug-infested den," many Granite Staters were outraged by the remark. Some people, however, took to social media using the hashtag #druginfestedden to show that New Hampshire has far more to offer than its high rates of opioid addiction.

Some posted pictures of the natural scenic beauty that can be found in most parts of the state, while others posted shots of some of the many attractions in the area, like Canobie Lake Park or the Ice Castles in Lincoln.

A number of out-of-staters joined in on the hashtag campaign as well, defending the Granite State as a welcoming vacation destination.

A twitter handle — @DrugInfestedDen — was even created, and the pages bio states "I'm not really a drug-infested den, I just play one in politics..."

There was, of course, a fair amount of sarcasm accompanying many of the photos. Check out some of our favorites below and submit your own pictures of the "drug-infested den" in our comment section!
