Granite Staters impress judges on national TV shows
Yet another New Hampshire resident is competing and impressing judges in a nationally-televised competition.
Caroline Burns, 15, of Hollis, impressed judges this week on The Voice with her cover of Carole King's song "So Far Away." She sang in a blind audition that had the judges facing away from the performers, according to aplus.com. Burns was picked by singer Adam Levine to continue in the competition.
In a separate competition among furniture designers around the country, Manchester's Vivian Beer is one of two finalists on "Ellen's Design Challenge" something she accomplished by creating unique furniture pieces that met particular specifications for the competition.
And according to seacoastonline.com, Jamie Banks, a corporal with the Rockingham County jail won $125,000 on MTV's "The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines" by succeeding at such tasks as eating cockroaches, surviving extreme endurance tests and dangling from a skyscraper.
