CONCORD - A weekend warmup had many Granite Staters smiling Sunday.
Temperatures went into the upper 30's in many places across the state, before dropping back into the 20's Sunday night.
"Once you get used to them, 30 degrees feels like Heaven - come spring, anyway," said Ivan Kelso, who was wearing a sweatshirt and pajama pants at the Hooksett rest stop Sunday evening.
As temperatures get back to freezing, officials warn of the hazards posed after some thawing across the state.
"With the rise in temperatures today, with all the water that is from the snow melting, everybody's got to remember that," said Concord Firefighter Christopher Golomb. "As the temperatures drop - that's going to freeze again and then make the corners that are already a little bit tight with the high snow banks even more slippery."
Those who were out today said it was a taste of the season ahead.
"I'm ready for spring!" said Wendy Martel, who decided to wear short-sleeves outside tonight for the first time in months.
