Grand jury indicts man accused of shooting neighbor's dog, mother accused of endangering child
BRENTWOOD - A Rockingham County grand jury handed down multiple indictments earlier this week, including one against an Epping man accused of shooting his neighbor's dog.
Andrew Freisinger was charged with reckless conduct and cruelty to animals. Freisinger says he was defending himself, his wife and his chickens when he shot the 1-year-old pitbull in the mouth in September. The gunshot wound partially severed the dog's tongue. Freisinger is scheduled to appear in court next week.
James Banks, of Portsmouth, has already been charged with sexually assaulting three women and now faces two more counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of attempted trafficking in persons.
Police say he used an online classified website to lure women to his apartment, where he raped them.
Meanwhile, a mother in Newmarket has been indicted for criminal restraint and endangering the welfare of a child. Police say Candice Griffith threw one of her children into a full bathtub and tried to push the child under the water back in October. She is due in court next week to face the charges.
