Grand jury indicts former Stoddard firefighter charged with arson

KEENE - A grand jury has indicted a Stoddard man accused of setting fires that consumed more than 190 acres and put several homes at risk during dry weather in April.

David Plante, 31, faces four felony counts of arson and three felony counts of reckless conduct in connection with the brush fires in Stoddard.
The investigation into the fires is ongoing and involves the state Division of Forests and Lands, the Office of the State Fire Marshal and state police, who say additional charges may be forthcoming.
Plante remains in jail at the Cheshire County House of Corrections in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bail.
