Grand jury indicts Exeter woman who police say was on drugs when she crashed into school bus


EXETER - A grand jury has indicted an Exeter woman accused of being on drugs when she crashed her car into a school bus in May last year.

Ashley Compagna, 31, of 5 Sterling Hill Lane, Apt. 527, was indicted on five counts of aggravated DWI in Strafford County Superior Court.

The Oyster River School District bus was carrying 11 elementary students on Route 108 in Durham. Compagna was injured and had to be extricated from her Toyota Prius.

One student received a gash on the head but the rest of the children were not injured.

The bus was totaled.

If convicted on all counts, Compangna could face as much as 35 years in prison.
