Gov. Sununu becomes first non-craftsman to participate in horn ceremony at NH craft fair

NEWBURY — Governor Sununu helped celebrate the opening the 84th Annual Craftsmen’s Fair Saturday by blowing a ceremonial handcrafted horn alongside craftsmen in an annual tradition.

Normally the handcrafted horn is blown by another craftsman to commence the nation's oldest craft fair, but this year Governor Sununu was the first non-craftsman to blow the horn.

The fair runs through Aug. 13 at the Mount Sunapee Resort in Newbury, and it attracts over 22,000 visitors each year to buy pottery, hand-blown glass, framed prints, bowls, scarves, jewelry, and other items.
