Gossler Park Elementary in Manchester evacuated, dismissed for building inspection
MANCHESTER - Gossler Park Elementary School students were dismissed Friday while city engineers inspected the building for safety. Several cracks in the walls were discovered Friday morning.
Students were moved out of the school as a precaution while staff from the facilities division were called. They remained safe and warm inside the Middle School at Parkside.
No immediate risk at Gossler Park has been detected, but superintendent Debra Livingston agreed that the structural engineer should give his assessment, and without knowing how long that might take, the elementary students will not return to the building on Friday.
Parents were being contacted with information about picking up their children at Parkside.
