MANCHESTER - A group of good Samaritans refused to let a thief get away Tuesday.
Police said Alan White tried to steal a woman's wallet in the Wal-Mart store on Keller Street.
The woman yelled for help and other customers cornered White.
However, White still tried to get away so 45-year-old Richard White, of Manchester, tackled him.
"I grabbed him, took him down, pretty much sat on him until police came," Richard White said.
White said the woman was grateful and said the world could use more people like him.
Alan White is charged with theft by unauthorized taking and false report to law enforcement. He also had two electronic warrants for his arrest both for driving after revocation/suspension.
