Good Samaritan picking up trash at NH park stuck by needle
PORTSMOUTH — A Good Samaritan picking up trash at Prescott Park got stuck with a needle.
Sgt. Eric Kinsman said the woman picked up a lancet — a medical device used by diabetics to draw blood — Monday morning. She sent a photo of the device to police before getting treatment at a local medical center for the puncture wound.
Earlier this month, a 10-year-old girl had to receive treatment after stepping on a needle at Hampton Beach.
Those who come upon needles are asked to call their local fire department for proper pickup. People who get stuck by needles should seek medical attention right away.
