Gonic man facing felony drug charges

ROCHESTER - Nathanial Donato of Gonic was arrested on Tuesday and is facing felony drug charges after Rochester police and first responders arrived at his Shelby Avenue apartment in response to a report of two individuals who were unresponsive and not breathing after overdosing on heroin.

The two occupants who were unresponsive and a third occupant who was showing signs of overdose were transported the hospital.

An unattended 2-year-old girl was also found in the apartment where the incident occurred. The police report had no indications of the child's well-being.

Donato is being charged with possession of a controlled narcotic, a Class B felony, endangering the welfare of a child and incompetent contempt. Donato was out on bail following a burglary arrest on Sep. 27.

Donato has been transported to the Strafford County Jail to await his arraignment after he was unable to make $10,000 cash bail.

Rochester police expect to make more arrests regarding the other occupants later this week.
