Goffstown police say skimming device seized from Irving station on Mast Road

GOFFSTOWN - Police have removed an illegal skimming device found at the Irving Circle K gas station at 277 Mast Road.

Police say the homemade skimming device was found connected to the credit and debit card reader inside the gas pump by a service technician doing maintenance work on the pump.

Police are urging anyone who may have used a credit or bank card at the Irving station to check bank and credit card statements to see if there are any transactions conducted without their knowledge.

Skimming devices are used to get personal financial information from the magnetic strip on the back of a person's debit or credit card. The data can then be used to make unauthorized purchases.

The investigation in ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call the Goffstown police department at 497-4858.
