Goffstown man charged with accidentally shooting, critically injuring his brother

GOFFSTOWN - A man is charged with accidentally shooting his younger brother, leaving him in critical condition in a Boston hospital.

Timothy Richard Beard, 23, will be arraigned this morning on felony charges of second-degree assault and reckless conduct.

Witnesses aid Timothy Richard Beard and his 21-year-old brother Christian Beard were playing video games at Timothy's apartment when the two started talking about a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun on the table and zombies, police said. Timothy Beard allegedly picked up the weapon and pointed it at his brother and the gun discharged. Witnesses told police they believe the shooting was accidental.

Christian Beard was flown by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with what police described as "critical injuries." Timothy Beard was arrested and was being held on $10,000 bail.
