Gilford man arrested after allegedly pistol-whipping two at Manchester party
MANCHESTER -- A Gilford man is facing first degree assault charges after allegedly pistol whipping two victims at a party in Manchester on Sunday and threatening others. Parker Cathcart of Gilford was arraigned on Monday.
Police responded to 28 Trolley St. three times on Sunday. The third call involved a large fight at approximately 3 a.m.
Officers spoke to the victims and were told the suspect, later identified as Parker Cathcart, 20, of Gilford, had engaged in a fist fight earlier in the night with one of the party guests.
He allegedly returned to the address with a stolen handgun and began making threats to multiple partygoers. During the course of his alleged verbal threats, he started to "pistol whip" two individuals, causing minor injuries. One of the victims' happened to be the same individual he fought with earlier in the night, police said.
Cathcart was located a short time later by police, who say they gathered enough evidence to arrest and charge Cathcart with first degree assault, four counts of criminal threatening, receiving/possession of stolen property and a probation violation.
