Giants lead Cowboys 7-3 after first quarter

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) Eli Manning threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to rookie Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants grabbed a 7-3 lead over the Dallas Cowboys after the first quarter on Sunday night.
The touchdown pass capped a 13-play, 80-yard drive after New York's defense forced a three-and-out on Tony Romo and the Cowboys' opening possession. It marked the second straight game the Giants have scored a touchdown on their opening drive after failing to do so in their previous 20 games.
Romo got Dallas on the scoreboard on its next possession, hitting James Hanna for 27 yards on a third-and-1 play action and following that with an 18-yard pass to Terrance Williams. The drive stalled and Dan Bailey hit a 38-yard field goal in the quick moving quarter at MetLife Stadium.
New York is trying to snap a five-game losing streak and keep its slim playoff hopes alive. Dallas is looking for a win to tie Philadelphia (8-3) in the NFC East.
Manning, who threw five interceptions in a loss to San Francisco last week, was 8 of 9 for 92 yards in the quarter.
