Gas prices lower, in some NH places, than they've been in years

NH1 News

Gas prices continue to drop throughout New Hampshire. Many drivers are now filling up for less than $3 a gallon.

"I just filled up at $2.81 in Boscawen the other day," said Franklin resident Erin Meagher.

And it's not just the Granite State. If you've filled up recently you've probably noticed you're getting a little more bang for your buck.

"The national average is slightly lower than New Hampshire. It's $2.86 today versus the New Hampshire average of 2.91," said AAA Northern New England Spokesperson Nick Wallner. Wallner said. "In some areas it's been years since gas prices were this low. And the downward trend is very timely."

According to AAA, gas prices have fallen more than 20 cents in New Hampshire in the last month. It's good news for drivers hitting the road next week for the busy Thanksgiving holiday.

Next week more than 40 million people are expected to travel for the holiday, a majority of them by car. Those hitting the road can expect the relief to continue.

"Gas prices are going to continue to fall through the Thanksgiving week," said Wallner.
