Garage destroyed, home damaged by fire in Manchester

MANCHESTER - A fire at 742 Brent Street in Manchester destroyed a garage and caused some damage to the home attached.

Firefighters arrived on scene six minutes after the call the came in. According to District Chief Mike Gamache, the homeowners and their pets were able to get out before crews arrived; they were not injured. One firefighter received a minor injury.

Neighbors reported seeing a lot of black smoke and flames coming from the garage. There was no vehicle inside, but a car parked in the driveway received some damage. The siding on the home next door was melted from the intense heat.

The cause is under investigation but does not appear suspicious.
