Future of construction program in doubt at Portsmouth High School

NH1.com

PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth High School may bid farewell to a 40-year mainstay of its technical education program, reports Seacoastonline.

The School Board will see a presentation about the status of the Career Technical Education center from Diane Canada, director of the program, on Tuesday.

The program was not offered for the first time this year, but one persistent student, Abby Trainor, who dreams of becoming an architect, gathered other interested students and got the course to run, but not as a permanent comeback. Concerns about low interest and enrollment still remain for school officials.
