Funeral services held for man killed by 'Suge' Knight
LOS ANGELES (AP) Mourners have gathered in Los Angeles for a man who was struck by a truck driven by former rap mogul "Suge" Knight.
Terry Carter died and another man was injured on Jan. 29 when Knight's pickup truck hit them outside a burger stand in Compton. Knight drove off but surrendered the next day.
The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1zvo80d ) reports that nearly 2,000 mourners gathered to remember the 55-year-old Carter. The newspaper says he was remembered as "a businessman who built classic lowriders and started a record label with rapper Ice Cube."
Prosecutors say Knight deliberately hit the men after a fight but Knight's current and former lawyers call it an accident. They say Knight was attacked and fled in fear.
Knight has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run. He's due back in court on Monday for a bail-review hearing.
