Funds raised for Plymouth teen battling cancer, struggling to pay for college

PLYMOUTH - A community has come out in full force to support Aurora Brown, a freshman at Plymouth State University recently diagnosed with stage two renal cell cancer.

Aurora's cancer is a type of kidney cancer that needs radio frequency and chemotherapy.

She said she currently owes Plymouth State University $3,457 and with mounting medical costs, she has been left to make a decision between school and getting healthy.

But friends, family and strangers have made her battle a little easier.

A Go Fund Me page set up for Aurora on Saturday has already raised more than $2,000 toward her goal of paying for school.

In an update to her page, Aurora said, "I cannot begin to describe how I am feeling right now. The kindness and support is more than I could have ever asked for."

For more information about Aurora or to donate, visit her Go Fund Me page.
